Richard Kline began writing creative verses for his wife in 1998. He continued writing greeting cards and other emotionally oriented gifts to fill a market niche that he saw as unfulfilled. Kline wanted to give people, especially men, the opportunity to express their love more personally and genuinely than what was currently available

Richard was constantly chagrinned by the impersonal and expressionless greetings available, especially those targeted to male buyers. Greeting cards designed for men were cliched and uninspiring. He was challenged to find cards with messages that were original, meaningful, truly heartfelt, and worth keeping.

The ironic twist to this story is that Richard is not a professional writer. He does not work in the creative realm. He is one of America's premier power athletes. A top trainer and coach of military personnel, celebrities and professional athletes, he is a former member of the elite US military's "All-American" 82nd Airborne Division. A strong, rugged, very physical, self-reliant individual, Richard does not appear to be the kind of guy who would actively use his creative "right side" brain. Yet, he has a keen sense of people's emotional hot-buttons and has made many recipients of his creations cry with joy and pleasure because they are so touched by his work.
